ICT Network and Security Engineer – Ballymena & Co.Antrim - Salary negotiable
Our client currently has an opening for a Network & Security analyst for a contract to permanent opportunity. The role will be primarily based within their Ballymena site.

This is an ongoing contract expected to last until end of March 2012. There is a possibility of this role becoming permanent.

Main Responsibilities:

• Ensure efficient and effective day to day operation of the organisation’s data communications infrastructure to meet organisational requirements.
• Proactively manage network infrastructure and network performance taking action as appropriate in line with change control procedures. 
• Monitor ICT Network Services for robustness and reliability, provide information for performance measurement and regularly report outcomes to the Network Manager.
• Implement ICT network upgrades so as to cause the minimum of operational disruption to the organisation, and the minimum delay between acquisition and successful implementation.
• Work to relevant organisational and industry standards, policies and models of best practice.
• Ensure that systems and ICT facilities are available to teleworkers and remote workers, whilst ensuring that the integrity and security of the network is maintained.
• Manage relationships with third parties including internal and external stakeholders and suppliers

Essential Criteria:

• An ICT related university degree or relevant professional ICT qualification and at least 2 years experience in the last 4 years in a Network technical role.

OR

• 3 years experience within the last 4 years in a Network/Security technical role.
• Have technical knowledge including practical experience of Cisco networks, routers and switches with the following:
  •  Installation
  • Configuration
  • Management and maintenance
  • Security
  • Fault resolution of data communications equipment
• Experience of ICT security technologies. Eg TCP/IP, Cisco, encryption
• Current full UK driving licence and access to an appropriate form of transport to fulfil the demands of the post 

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience of Trapeze Wireless network
• Strong working knowledge of network security and layering
• Cisco Certification
